Folks, this may indeed turn into a Tokyo Disneyland blog if I don't get some questions soon! Because I've got more pictures of this place than Any place.

And here I am at the entrance to those canoes I mentioned yesterday.

Any questions?

Tokyo Disneyland - Critter Country

Okay, let's get off Star Wars for a bit and visit Tokyo Disneyland (though, speaking of Star Wars, I find it difficult to locate Star Tours in TDL). Here we are in Critter Country, and next to Splash Mountain, you can sit yourself down and have a drink in a not Too popular restaurant that has a plethora of cute details carved in it.

Nice atmosphere, wouldn't you say?

We don't get over to the Western area too much, but we went here right after we took the canoe ride. A cold day, but fun. First canoe I've ever been in!

Speaking of Star Wars, these chocolate eggs - with a prize inside a capsule in each - were at our local convenience store last week. My daughter LOVES these. Probably the thing she likes most in her 3 year old life right now. She watches countless youtube videos of people opening various eggs.

I don't think they carry them in the USA anymore because of some choking hazard. Too bad. They are fun.

Well, looks like Star Wars starts in 20 minutes here. :)

STAR WARS comes to Japan tomorrow!

Yep, I just discovered, looking at my local theatre listing, that it's going to be here for 2 days, Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th, for 1 showing each. I could see it tomorrow, but to be honest, I was quite disappointed by the previous film (too much like New Hope, but with a lot less action), so I'm going to wait and see it with everyone else next month. The reason being... I love seeing stuff in the 4D theatre they have there. Lots of fun when the seats shake, lights flash, smells and etc. happen  during the course of a flick. That's worth waiting for.

This is a little shrine at a local park - well, a Tiny play area with a slide, grass and this shrine - about a 3 minute walk from my house. It's the closest slide we have, so my daughter Emily and I come here sometimes.

Shrines are great interactive ways of getting religion into the lives of people here. The one pictured here doesn't have a bell to ring, but usually, you toss a coin through the grating, as you see here. Ring the bell. Clap your hands together and make a wish. Much like tossing a coin into a fountain in America (which they don't do here).

Neighbors take turns cleaning the shrine and buying and placing flowers on it. There's great community spirit here.

Japan is ready for the new Star Wars! I took this in my local Toho movie theatre the other day when I went to see the Blade Runner sequel. They have a small store in here which always has items related to new or coming films.

If you want to see more, just send me a message.

Japan LOVES American films. Though I have to say, we don't get 5 a week like you do in America. It's about 1 or 2 a week, and sometimes (not often) not that.

Next week the new Jigsaw comes here. Well, in just a few days. I have to admit, I'm a big fan of the original Saw series. And no, I'm not a fan of blood and gore. I like them because they are mysteries. And they don't make a Lot of mysteries these days, unless you watch a lot of tv. And I don't!

Hello! My name is Ben Ohmart and I have been living in Japan for nine years now. It will be a decade next year!

I would love to hear from anyone who has a question about Japan. I will do my best to answer and help you.

I mainly have been living in  Kyoto. We have taken a lot of trips to Osaka and Tokyo Disneyland which is very near Tokyo. You can see the Tokyo Sky Tree from the train coming to Disneyland in fact.

Well, until I get some questions here, I'm going to start posting about our various travels here.  So please ask away!

Thanks for visiting.
